Liam Aumareva

Liam Aumareva is a driven and community-minded student with a deep passion for technology. Of Tongan heritage and raised by a single mother, Liam has developed a strong sense of perseverance and purpose. He is committed to becoming the first in his family to pursue a career in software engineering.

Currently in Year 12 at De La Salle College, Liam is a recipient of the prestigious Toloa STEM and St. Vincent De Paul scholarships, a testament to his academic focus and determination. He has a particular interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and is focused on developing his capabilities in the tech sector.

Outside the classroom, Liam contributes to his school by working part-time at the Tuckshop, gaining valuable experience in teamwork and customer service. He is also a proud member and leader of the Young Vinnies group, where he helps lead community-focused initiatives that promote service, empathy, and leadership.

Liam sees the First Foundation Scholarship as a crucial opportunity—not only to relieve financial pressure on his family, but to gain mentorship and real-world experience that will prepare him for the challenges of tertiary study and beyond. His long-term goal is to use technology to improve lives and uplift his community, combining technical skill with a heart for service.
