Giselle Fraei

Giselle is a determined and compassionate young woman with big dreams for her future. A Year 12 student with a love for Maths, Art and Religious Education, she brings both creativity and analytical thinking to everything she does. As the youngest of four children and the first in her family to apply for university, Giselle is motivated by a deep desire to make her family proud and create new opportunities for them all.

Raised in a hardworking household, Giselle credits her strong work ethic to her parents and older siblings. Their resilience has shaped her outlook on life and strengthened her ambition to succeed. She plays an important role at home, helping care for her older brother and sister, who are autistic and non-verbal. Through this, Giselle has developed remarkable patience, empathy and a deep understanding of the importance of advocating for and supporting those who are vulnerable.

Her journey to higher education carries special significance. Financial hardship meant her oldest sister entered the workforce straight after school rather than attending university. Giselle sees her own path to university as both a privilege and a responsibility. An opportunity to open doors not only for herself, but for her family.

At school, Giselle aims high in all her subjects and embraces every opportunity to grow. She is actively involved in swimming, performs at Polyfest, and sharpens her critical thinking through the Debate Club. As a member of her school’s Leadership Group, she contributes to charity initiatives and supports school events, building her confidence and strengthening her sense of community.

Looking ahead, Giselle hopes to pursue a career in Teaching or Graphic Design. Pathways that would allow her to combine her passion for art with her desire to help others. She is committed to using education as a tool to uplift her family and give back to her community.

As a 2025 scholarship winner, Giselle represents dedication, resilience and heart. She is ready to embrace the opportunities ahead, confident that with support, hard work and faith, she can achieve her dreams and make a lasting difference.
