Awatea Poutai
Awatea Poutai, a talented and hardworking student from Whangārei, is the first in his family to attend university, earning a Hi-Tech scholarship through the I Have A Dream programme and the support of his whānau and mentors, while overcoming personal and family challenges with resilience and pride.
Isabella Baldwin
Isabella Baldwin, a talented athlete and musician from Renwick, overcame family hardship-including her mother’s stroke-to become the first in her family to attend university, winning a prestigious Hi-Tech Trust scholarship thanks to her passion for learning, dedication to sport, and the unwavering support of her family and mentors.
Taurus Tumoana
Taurus Tumoana, once placed in short-term foster care, is now a Hi-Tech scholar and school leader with aspirations for university thanks to the support of his foster mum Lucy and inspiring teachers who helped him believe in his potential and future.
