Eligibility for this Category

This category is for solutions made first and foremost for the public good, as well as those made for the public sector such as government, local government and NGOs. It recognises those whose innovation is primarily focused on improving the lives of the people it serves, and improvements in financial, social and environmental well-being.

As well as not-for-profit and other NGOs, this may include 'Social Enterprises' who maximise social impact alongside profit. By entering this category, you are ineligible to enter any other innovative product or industry category with the same solution.

Your organisation is registered in NZ and meets at least two of the following criteria:

• Founded in NZ
• Global headquarters are in NZ
• At least 20% of your employees reside in NZ
• The service/solution originated in NZ or was substantially developed in NZ

In Entering this Category

• You have developed a technology solution (hardware, software or service based) that is being provided to members of society, either within NZ or globally, with its primary purpose being 'for good'.
• Upon request, you can supply the judges with evidence to support any claims made in this entry and be able to prove that:
  • The solution was designed in NZ
  • Your company owns or has rights to use any IP
