"NZX is proud to put its name to the Flying Kiwi Award in 2008. NZX ran a series of initiatives last year that identified a number of gaps in the Hi-Tech sector. These included a lack of integration across the community, a significant funding gap in the pre-IPO phase and poor technology valuation skills in both the sector and in the capital markets.
We are working constantly with the sector to remove these barriers so New Zealand technology companies can hit their full potential. Access to capital, and having investment professionals and investors that understand the value of these companies, are fundamental to these companies' ability to grow.
The Annual Hi-Tech awards are a chance to engage with this talented and enthusiastic industry, celebrating the Flying Kiwis of today and motivating the Flying Kiwis of the tomorrow.
